“My name is Lemonade. One of my favourite things to do is play! I love fetch and always bring the ball/toy back, but you have to work with me on the game of “drop it” and “give” because I also like tug of war! I almost always give in though because I want to run and fetch again.

I also love the game of “nap” and I am reallllly good at it. My specialties include, nap on carpet, nap on couch, nap in my bed, nap on blanket in sun, nap upside down, but my favourite one rhymes and it’s called nap on lap… Did I tell you I like to nap?!

On my walks I like to stare, chase, and sometimes bark at the birds, squirrels, and bunny rabbits so you need to practice good leash control, and help me learn as I might pull a bit. My foster parents will make me sit or redirect my attention before continuing our walk ensuring the furry critters are gone. Also on walks I can get startled by fast moving people sneaking up on me (bikes, scooters, running), loud noises, and big buses, so I prefer walks on quiet streets.

Remember how much I like naps… sometimes if I’m in too deep a sleep, and it’s dark, if I’m startled or surprised awake by your petting, or sweet touches, I occasionally wake up confused. I can be a little loud and seem upset, but then I shake off the cobwebs and I’m super fine. Don’t get me wrong I reallly love belly rubs, kisses, and cuddles when I’m awake with you, and that’s almost always! I would love a patient and understanding family who is willing to work through my quirks. Because I can get startled easily, I should be in an older, quiet home with no small kids as they need to be able to respect my space while I’m sleeping.

There’s one last thing I want to share. I’m working hard at getting along with other dogs, and while I’m not quite there yet, I am hopeful that with some training and patience I can one day have a big dog brother or sister if that’s what you want too. I could live with another quiet dog who is willing to give me my space, with proper introductions and management from the humans!

I can’t wait to meet you soon!” – xo, Lemonade
