Handsome three-legged hunk looking for his new best friend!

Meet Prince! This 7-ish year old gent came into AARCS care with a dislocated front leg. Unfortunately it couldn’t be repaired by surgery so the decision was made to amputate. A missing leg doesn’t cramp his style though and he enjoys short walks, sunbathing, kisses, and snuggles with his people.

What’s cuter than a dog playing fetch?? A 3-legged dog playing fetch! He loves playing fetchies in the back yard and will even bring the ball right back to you!

Prince has been hanging out with dogs big and small, young and old, in his foster home and has tolerated everyone pretty well. He’s too cool for doggie playtime though and prefers his own space. He can be a little growly when other dogs don’t respect his personal bubble but hasn’t taken it any further than that. He also lives with a cat and he knows who’s boss. He gives a short chase once in a while but isn’t overly fixated or persistent in his pursuits and the cat isn’t overly bothered either. Prince hasn’t met any kids but he’d likely prefer older kids or adult-only homes. He would do well as an only child, or in a home with respectful dogs who understand his need for space.

During the day, Prince hangs out free in the house while his foster mom is at work. He’s fully housetrained, not destructive and doesn’t seem to have any separation anxiety. He’s not overly vocal either so shouldn’t upset the neighbors! He absolutely LOVES sleeping in your bed (and sharing a pillow if you let him!), but will also sleep on his own bed if you tell him too.

This good looking little man is a bit chubby right now but he’s working on his fitness goals. He knows that maintaining a healthy weight is essential for a long happy life on 3 legs!
