    Story

Smart and sweet, even after all I’ve been through, my foster mom calls me Dee Dee because I’m Darling dog.

I was hit by a car – ouch! – and required surgery for a hind leg fracture. My temperament is very sweet, even after all I’ve been through. I love everyone people-wise and so far I am very interested in cats and dogs I wish could play with me. Unfortunately, I still need lots of rest and medical care. My broken leg is all plated and pinned back together though so I really want to get mobile just as soon as I can, in a large enclosed area. I am very smart and getting smarter every day as I work my brain more than my legs. I really like being busy. I love food puzzles and trying to figure out human talk. I already know some words like “lie down” so I can relax and “wait” so my foster mom can help me get geared up to go outside. Oh yeah, and I whimper if I need to go outside for a bathroom break. I love being outside and rolling on my back in the grass. My foster dog sister likes to bark at all sorts of things so I copied her at first. Silly sister, I’m so smart I’ve already learned what “no bark” means. Will you keep talking to me and teach me new things and give my huge velvet ears a scratch when I do well? And guess what? I’ll take a belly rub anytime!
