    Story

Hi world! My name is Alex. I am a sweet and cuddly girl!

My dream is to be in my very own home this summer. I’m posting this early because it might take some time for my perfect family to come around.

My foster mom always tells me what a pretty girl I am. Aren’t I just the cutest? I am a young, fluffy, snuggly, gal. I love to play with my toys and I love to chase and wrestle with my foster sisters. Once you get to know me, I am a typical puppy. I didn’t have much human contact in my early puppy-hood so strangers can be scary. Sometimes, I run and hide. Sometimes, I even bark or growl. My foster family is teaching me that “strangers” often have delicious cookies to feed me and are not that scary after all.

    My ideal home:
    - Active
    - Dogs are allowed on the couch (I don’t think you could stop me even if you wanted to).
    - Fully fenced yard
    - The patience to continue to work on my training.

P.S. I may be 60+ lbs, but I am a lapdog. I promise I’m super sneaky and you won’t even notice when I climb into your lap. ;)

P.P.S I am also super smart. I have great name attention, I come when I’m called, I can sit, l can lie down, I can target toys and hands. I’m working on stay but I just love my people so much I want to follow them everywhere! I sleep in my crate at night.

I know my foster family and the behaviour team at AARCS are working so hard to help me find my family. Is it you?

      Good with Cats?
Alex currently lives with a cat but really enjoys chasing her. I would recommend no cats or separate spaces.
    • AARCS_dog
      Good with Dogs?
Only tested with Larger Breed Dogs
    • AARCS_KidTested
      Good with Kids?
      Not tested with Kids
    • AARCS_SpecialNeeds
Does this Animal have Special Needs?
      Yes, Behavioral Needs

Alex is a shy and nervous girl. She needs a home that can continue to build her confidence with new people and new environments.
