Woof woof!! Oakley here, I’m still waiting for you! My foster parents are grrreat but I want my furever home so we can start making memories together! And now I will let my foster mom take over the story of our journey so far!

This guy has brought so much joy to our lives in the little time he’s been with us! We would definitely would keep him forever if it was the best thing for him. Sadly we are not as active as Oakley needs and deserves for the rest of his long doggy life!

He had FHO surgery in mid March and has been recovering amazingly! He loves all people, even if they are just walking by your house going somewhere else he cries to them to beg them to come see him! We are working on this as it can be a bit annoying at times! We don’t have children but I have had him around our neighbor’s boy who is about 9 or 10 and he loved him! He doesn’t seem to have an aggressive bone in his body. Quite the opposite actually, when my neighbor’s dog wasn’t so willing to share his yard or people Oakley just rolled over on his back with his tail wagging wondering why Seargent didn’t want to play with him!

Oakley walks pretty good on a leash, we are working on him sitting every time I stop walking and he’s getting really good at it. He’s also working really hard on his stay, this one is so hard as he wants to ALWAYS be near you! Kennel training is going so well, he will usually go in when told and actually prefers to sleep in there at night. Just recently I picked up a “mattress pad” for his kennel and now he will go in there during the day and lay done when he wants some chill time alone! I believe with some more time and liver treats the sky is the limit to what this smart boy could learn to do!

When it comes to taking treats from you he is the most gentle pup ever! I can also put my hand in his food dish while he’s eating and play with the kibble with him just continuing to eat and not a care in the world!Oh and this boy is completely house trained and has never had an accident in our home!

So if you are looking for a best friend for life!?! I believe you would be very lucky to have this gentle soul in your life!!

Do you like long walks and learning new things? this is your dog!!

We don’t have children but he was good with my neighbors 9 year boy and we had our grandson who is 2 years old over and he was okay but he’s so big we didn’t let him off leash as he may knock him over trying to greet him very excitedly!
