Makai is looking for a special adopter with a big heart.

This poor guy has had a rough life up until now, he was found abandoned with chronic ear infections and terrible teeth. Fortunately for Makai, he was brought to AARCS where he has been treated for his ears and has had a full dental.

There’s a lot to say about Makai and we’ll start by saying he’s a big, friendly boy. His favorite things in life are food, sleeping, getting petted and his favorite toys. His preferred sleeping place is in bed snuggled between the pillows or curled up in a fluffy cat bed. He has perfect litter box etiquette and has been a lovely house guest.

So now that you know how great this boy is, he does have some special needs. It is suspected that his ear and mouth issues may be the result of on-going food allergies, which is not at all uncommon in cats and dogs. He is currently on allergy food which he will need to stay on. Makai has also been diagnosed with a heart murmur which is not causing him any problems at all but will need to be monitored with his regular checkups.

We feel Makai may be better suited as your one and only or with another older kitty. Even though he gets along with our resident cat, he does get grouchy if she bothers him too much. Makai also lives with an older dog in the foster home, but mostly he just ignores her. We are hoping to find just the right home for this sweet boy, he will be such a wonderful companion for someone who would like a sweet laid back kitty who just wants to be loved.
