I am shy small girl but I am learning that living in a home is much easier than looking after myself.
Orillia comes from Manitoba where she was rescued by AARCS on a frigid winter day. As it turns out she was saved just in time because when she was travelling to Calgary, Orillia gave birth to 4 puppies. Orillia has been looking after her puppies in a foster home and she is a tenderhearted, great mom. Orillia has not interacted with people very much so far and she was not accustomed to living in a home. When approached by people, she would move away and pretend the people were not there. She was not used to being fed regularly and has grown to love meal time and treats of chicken and cheese! Orillia understands about house training and will wait to go outside when let out frequently enough. She is learning to be handled and has grown to love her foster mom very much. When the foster mom pets or brushes her, Orillia will often fall asleep while sitting up and leaning on her foster mom. Over the last few weeks, she has started to show her cute personality by playing with toys, bopping her foster mom with her nose and playing “find the treat”. Orillia has started to trust her foster dad and teenager siblings and they can pet her for a short time before she moves a short distance away. When visitors come to visit the puppies, Orillia will now move closer to the visitors if they try to give her treats. This girl is the perfect size and is quite small – about 30 lbs. She is very calm and quiet and doesn’t mind being left alone or confined at night to her room. When Orillia is finished raising her puppies, she will move into the main area of her foster house where there is a resident male dog and a cat. She has come so far already and will learn the family routine very quickly. Orillia is very easy to love and with some patience and space, she will warm up quickly and be a great best friend!
Orillia is small and sweet and has lots of love to give!
