    Story

Hans is such a good boy with so much energy! An active family would be a great fit for him.

He loves everyone he meets, not shy at all, just loving and playful. Hans would really thrive in a home that has another playful dog close to his size or bigger (he’s currently 50 pounds) he loves to wrestle with dogs and it’s a great way to burn some of that puppy energy. While another dog isn’t a necessity it would really be a great bonus for him. His leash skills are pretty good and he only pulls when another dog is visible, he just wants to play with them. He doesn’t like cats at all, we introduced him to a few different cats that are known to be friendly and he doesn’t react well to them.

He really loves food, not shocking since he’s part lab. Training him has been easy since he’ll do anything for food. We’ve mastered “sit” and are getting better with “stay”. He’s very obedient as he learns the ropes in his foster home. We have given him free reign of the house when we go to work and at night and he’s been such a good boy. We watch him on the cameras and all he does is sleep, he won’t chew on anything that isn’t his, unless it’s unattended food ;) and he doesn’t have any accidents. We don’t think that a crate in necessary given how well behaved he is.

He’s a very cuddly and affectionate dog, loves to snuggle on the couch or in bed, he likes to be near his humans, and he becomes puddy when he’s getting some scratches. He is a little jumpy when he gets excited but we’re working on showing him we don’t like that, he’s getting better at learning it’s not nice to jump.
