    Story

Hi I’m Maxine! I’m a cuddly girl who is quiet, loving and wants to have a safe place to call my own.

I’ve been living with my foster family for several weeks now, and they say that I am a really wonderful companion. I’ve even heard them say that their resident dog could use my training. I am house-trained (not one accident) and I LOVE people. Watch my tongue, because I like to lick your face when you are not paying attention! I love walking – though I think I could use some help on leash because I really just want to run, run, run (especially if I see a jackrabbit) and sniff, sniff, sniff. It’s strange though, because you might think that I have huge energy, but I am a seriously laid-back gal who gets excited when I get to go for my daily walks! My foster parents are using a harness and I think that’s a good idea because otherwise I might just pull on my neck too much. I love treats, people brushing my fur, playing with other dogs, my snuggly kennel, and quiet spots. I am the dog who is waiting for the perfect family to take me. I can even be left for the day – I am totally trustworthy and haven’t chewed anything other than my rawhide bone. I’d be good in a home where I am the only dog (because I have so much love to give) or where the other dog isn’t too jealous of my awesomeness. I’d love a yard because then I can go out and play, but I am so chill that I can work with you. I’m also not so big – my legs are shorter and my body is just right for your lap. I kind of look like a black bear with all of my fur – so regular brushing is required to keep my fur matt free and glossy smooth. My foster family does not want to let me go, so if you are interested you’d better let them know right away, or they may just decide to keep me. They think I’m going to be a very popular choice for adoption.
