Introducing the world’s biggest sweetheart!!
I don’t like to brag too much, but my foster family thinks I’m pretty amazing and smart. When I came into their home, I didn’t even recognize my name or know how to sit when asked. In less than one week, I have learned to come when called and sit when prompted (It’s pretty sweet…I have realized that I get more treats when I do these things!).
I definitely love companionship and playing with my foster dog, but could easily be on my own. I ‘pawsitively’ love to be around people, including children (as they feed, play and take care of me). I love to climb on them to get extra cuddles and kisses. I follow my humans around the house day or night and I love to sleep with them, but I am okay with staying in my kennel when they leave the house, some yummy treats always help to get me inside! By 9am, I am known to paw on the bedroom doors to say good morning to all my loved ones and share that my breakfast is late!!
As I was new to family life, I still have a couple things to learn. If someone isn’t at the door when I need to go pee, I have had a couple accidents unfortunately in the house. I also need lots of chew toys (I prefer super strong stuffies), as one day I mistook a chair for a chew toy in my spare time.
I love going on walks and smelling new things, but tend to pull on the leash when I see a rabbit or other unknown creatures. I want to chase them, but DON’T want to get in trouble meeting a porcupine again! I am young, with high energy so am the happiest when my humans can exercise me a couple times a day. I have jumped a three foot gate two times over the last month to meet up with ‘my’ humans –so please have a secure place for me.
Yours truly, working hard to be ready for my ‘furever’ family!! Nixon
