Formerly known as “Mo”, we have gotten to know her as Moki. She has completely stolen our hearts, and we are so excited for the lucky person or family who gets to take her home forever. At 7 months, Moki still has her puppy energy and can be so playful. She played so hard with a family friend’s pup that she tuckered herself right out. In less than the week we have had her, she has gone from not being able to leave the cul de sac for a walk because she was so scared, to bounding around the neighbourhood trying to chase rabbits and squirrels. Moki also barely let us get near her initially, but now can’t stop snuggling us and wanting to be near someone at all times. Our 8 and 10 year old kids have fallen for her and she is so good with them.
Understandably, Moki requires slow and gentle introductions to new people and dogs (cats didn’t go well at the previous foster home), best bridged by someone she already trusts. She sleeps beside us at night on her doggie bed and sleeps right through the night quite happily. We don’t leave her alone during the day for very long, and she is kept in our small bathroom where her puppy curiosity can’t get her into trouble. Moki doesn’t love being left alone – but who does? We are still working on getting her to ask to go to the bathroom outside, as she continues to have accidents – something that I trust will be remedied in a short time as she has proven to be one smart cookie!
Moki is going to make an outstanding, loveable and loyal family friend and pet. She is active and needs a person(s) who will take her out for long walks and hopefully some runs….as she has fabulous energy. Moki may even be a mountain girl and able to join families on hikes. The sooner she gets adopted, the sooner she can love and be loved!
