“It’s me, Harley! I’m looking for a very special family that will adopt me for my golden years! I’ll be turning 8-years old in a few months and I am so ready to find a loving family of my own. My life before AARCS was pretty dark, I don’t really like talking about it… Thankfully I arrived in AARCS’ care when I was at ‘rock-bottom’ and they were able to help me get better. My skin was terribly infected and I looked more like a rhinoceros than a dog! Everything hurt and I was not feeling well at all, but they were patient with me and treated me with tender loving care — something I hadn’t felt in a while. My mouth was riddled with infection as well which resulted in many of my teeth being pulled… I don’t have many left, but that’s okay! Because of my skin condition/allergies, I do require medications to keep it in balance which will cost about $50 per month. I’m a wee bit on the chubby-side, so I’m also on a metabolic diet which is lamb flavored, mmm, mmm! I just love my food, so I will need you to help me monitor my intake — or I will be snacking ALL DAY!
Right now I am living with my foster mama and her kitties! I’m usually pretty easy-going with my feline friends and respect their space, however, if they run fast, I do enjoy a good chase! If you’ve got kitties at your place, please help me keep that in check. I’ve met one of those tiny-humans called “kid” and she’s really nice — we like to snuggle when she comes over. At night, I know when it’s time for me to go to bed — I’ll tuck myself right in and pull the blanket over my head if it’s chilly. If you’ll let me sleep with you, I will be sure to crawl under the covers and help you stay toasty too! When my foster mom goes out, she lets me roam the house instead of putting me in a kennel, I like that and I make sure I am well-behaved so that I don’t lose that privilege. I’m a very sweet boy, but a Jack Russell Terrier, so someone who is familiar with the breed would be great for me too, we can be a bit quirky at times. Although I have lived with and met other dogs, I would prefer to be the only dog in the home as it’s nice to be the center of attention. If you would consider giving me a chance, I would be forever grateful. You never know, we could be a perfect match — please apply for me and make my day!” — xo Harley
