Affectionate and playful Joel can’t wait to meet his new family.

If you are looking for a loyal companion for all your outdoor adventures, look no further. Joel is a 5 year old beautiful brindled brown lab cross. He loves being outside, picking up scents, and helping you get your exercise. If you are a runner, Joel would especially love joining your home because he has energy to sprint as far as you want to go!

He is housetrained and reliably does his business outside when you take him. Joel LOVES his food and treats and gobbles up whatever you feed him. We think he is very smart: he learned to consistently sit in less than a day and reliably keeps to the boundaries in the house.

Endearingly, when you sit down Joel comes and nudges and butts your hand with his nose looking for ear scratches and pats. He will shadow you around your house, eager to please and be close to you.

Joel’s family tree is unknown but we suspect he might have hounds/trackers in there somewhere (he’s outstanding at picking up and following scents) and perhaps an Irish Setter or similar breed (reddish tinge and slightly curly coat).

Other random things to know about Joel: he doesn’t seem to shed much at all! Hooray for less vacuuming! Also, he is nervous about car rides but is growing in confidence. Joel can be left alone in the house and so far has been as good as gold and hasn’t got into any mischief. He does not like being crated. He sleeps on his bed on the main floor of our home. Finally, we haven’t heard him bark even once so if you want a quiet buddy, Joel’s your guy.
