“Hi there Humans! I’m Eli and I would love to meet you! I am a very happy and easy going guy who loves to be around my people and my foster dog sister. She and I are about the same size and age so we spend a lot of time playing and napping together. I do keep a close eye on my foster Dad and make sure we aren’t too far from him. He has to leave the house sometimes which kinda stresses me out. I would prefer it if my people were home with me most of the time. We’ve been practicing going into my kennel when he does have to leave though, and I’m getting a lot more use to that. Having my foster sis nearby helps. My kennel is actually my favourite place to be when its time for bed. I run straight into it when I hear “”bedtime!”” and sleep the whole night through knowing my humans are close by. My other favourite place to be is cuddled up next to my people or my foster sis getting lots of pets and luvin’. I’m a cuddler through and through!

I get really excited to meet other dogs on our walk each day – sometimes a little too excited if we’re both stuck on these darn leashes. And those fast little furry creatures, s q something, are so irresistible to chase. I’ll need someone to help me keep working on my leash manners, but my foster Dad says I’m getting there! In our yard I’m so happy to run around with my foster-sis and some of the other neighbor dog friends who come by with their people to play with us too. I even tried doggie daycare and had such a fun time. The day care lady said I was “awesome” and played especially well with some of the doggos smaller than me.

Oh, and I reall,y really, really love breakfast and dinner! I even sing a little when foster Dad is getting it ready. He has to put some pills in there and some yucky syrup medicine but I don’t notice it at all when its time to eat. In fact I run to my special eating spot by the front door and wait so nice until I get the OK to dig in! All that medicine he puts in there is to keep me healthy since I have something called congenital intrahepatic portosystemic shunt. But don’t let that scare you away. I wouldn’t even know I had it if they hadn’t told me. I can keep up with my younger foster dog sis stride for stride!

I have been in AARCS’ care since I was a puppy, and I’ve been patiently waiting for that special someone I can cuddle forever! Is that someone you? Come meet me and see, but I have to warn you… once you lay eyes on me, your family will not want to leave without me!” – xo, Eli
