I’m Ruger, a gentleman with a heart of gold and plenty of youthful spunk!
Don’t let my frosted muzzle fool you – I still have plenty of spunk and energy!
I’m a sweet lovebug that loves being near my humans and being petted all day long. If you stop petting me, I will gently nudge your hand back onto my head to let you know that petting time is not over. My foster parents say that I have very nice house manners and they trust me to roam free in the house during the day. When they’re not home, I settle into my favourite spot and take a nap. Sometimes I’m in such a deep sleep that I don’t even notice when they come home!
I love my daily walks because I get to sniff and explore. I walk nicely on a leash and like to stick close to my human. Walks are great until I see a rabbit or dog, then it’s go time! Oh boy, rabbits are just so fun to chase! Sometimes I get too excited and scare other dogs, because I just can’t wait to introduce myself properly! My foster parents are helping me to remain calm and have better doggy manners on leash. I’m trying to learn from the resident dog because she has very nice leash manners, and I get along nicely with her in the home when we’re hanging out.
I haven’t met any smaller humans yet, but boy, I love all humans! It’s more hands to pet me and I sure do love my pets. I also love tennis balls! I could run around the yard all day fetching them, although my foster parents say I need to work on the “”release”” part of this fetch game (it’s more fun when they chase me around). I know how to sit and shake paw, and since I’m a smart guy, my foster parents are teaching me some new tricks. Who said you can’t teach an old dog new tricks? I’m clever and eager to please!
Handsome, sweet, gentle, and loving – what more could you ask for? Come meet me today!
