Sweet boy full of energy and love

Hi my name is Snickers but my foster mum calls me Obi. I was born in care with AARCS on New Year’s Eve. I am full of energy and I just LOVE to play with my dog foster sister. Being outside is my absolute favourite and If I could I would stay out there all the time. I love to just chill in the sunshine and race around the yard.

I was born with a grade 6 heart murmur and the Drs say I might have Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) but I don’t let that stop me! I love running around and playing with everyone and I have lots of puppy energy to burn. Whenever anyone meets me they can’t believe I even have a medical condition! I have been taking beta blockers for 3 months and they have helped to control my heart murmur so now it doesn’t even show up at all! I will have to take beta blockers for my heart for the rest of my life but that’s ok because I love taking the pills if they are covered in my favorite treat – peanut butter!!!!

New situations are still a bit scary for me so I need a new home that will go slowly with me to start with. Once I know it’s safe I get much braver but it does still take me a little while to be sure. We go out on lots of trips and I see new things all of the time and I’m starting to adjust quicker. I don’t mind going on car rides now but that was very scary for me at first!! I do like to jump up at my people and fast movement scares me so small children aren’t great for me. My foster Mum says we are working on this and I don’t jump up AT her so much now but she says I have springs in my feet and I love to bounce when I’m excited!

My foster Mum is helping me to learn that people are awesome and that I don’t need to be scared when I meet someone new. We play lots of fun training games and I’m really starting to get the hang of them. I’m pretty excited to show my new family how to play my games too! Thanks to all the positive interactions I’ve been having with people I’m beginning to realize that people are awesome and I’m more interested and excited to get to know new faces now.

I haven’t had any accidents in the house for over 3 months and I know how to ask nicely to go out to pee. I also walk pretty well on my leash and love going out and about to explore. I feel a lot more confident when my dog foster sister shows me that everything is safe. If I got my wish my new home would have a big dog brother or dog sister for me to play with and show me the ropes of my new house.

Also I LOVE giving face kisses and getting lots of snuggles. I’m full of love to give and can’t wait to find my furever family and cover them with kisses!
