“Hi everyone, my name is Divot. Did you know that in Japan black cats are a sign of good luck?
I would say I have been pretty lucky so far. I was born on a farm and spent the first few months of my life there. Then I was rescued and brought into AARCS, but I didn’t really know what people were, and if I could trust them. So far all of the people I have met have been kind, but I am still pretty shy and timid.
Foster mum is working with me to try and convince me that humans are good, and I don’t have to be afraid of them, but it is a slow process. I have learned that treats are awesome, and I will even eat them out of peoples’ hand if I feel comfortable with them. I also like to play with stick toys, but foster mum says I play with them wrong because I like to play with the stick part, not the hanging bit.
I really like other cats, and I think it would really help me to be in a home with another cat who is social and can teach me to trust humans, and come out of my shell more. I also need a home with experienced cat people who can be patient with me, and work with me.
I think once I start to trust people, I could be a good lap cat.
Would you be willing to take me home and teach me how to cuddle? Apply to meet me today!”
