    Story

This sweet girl is Halo and she is looking for a home of her very own.

Halo has come from a rough background and deserves to finally have the home she truly deserves. She is completely house trained (not one accident in the house) and will even let you know when she needs to go do her business. She gets along great with the two large resident dogs in her foster home and also the resident cat. Halo is crate trained and will stay in there all day while you are at work, without any issue. Even though she is crate trained, her foster home does not keep her in the kennel anymore. Halo stays out, free roam of the house, with the two resident dogs all day and she mostly just sleeps. At night she also sleeps in the bedroom with her foster parents, by their bed, and sleeps all night.

When Halo came into AARCS care, she was surrendered with a face full of quills. She also had been bitten a few times and had many of her own teeth broken, so AARCS had to have some of her teeth removed. Even though she has missing teeth, she has no issue eating dry dog kibble. Halo is approximately 3 years old and is definitely due for a perfect home of her own. She is not a high energy dog and mostly sleeps and relaxes majority of the day. Halo shows no signs of aggression but will hide if she is scared of the situation she is in.

Halo is still a little timid around strangers but is learning more every day that people are not out to hurt her. She is even approaching people on her own for scratches and attention. She will need a patient home, with no young children, so she can live a relaxing life. Halo takes time to trust new people, and fast and quick movements still scare her. For this reason, it’s best Halo go to a good home without young children.

Halo has been on a few walks and does ok on leash. She gets nervous around loud sounds but is getting use to it more and more every day. She enjoys more than anything a good comfy bed and loves being in the room with you. She is very gentle and will eat food and treats from your hand.

Halo will do well in any home that has the patience to earn her trust. Each day she shows more confidence and that her old life is now in the past. She wags her tail and gets excited when her foster parents come home from work and is starting to “dance” when she gets excited.

Even though this girl may be scared and shy of new situations, you will completely fall in love with her sweet and loving nature. The way she looks at you when she trusts you will truly make your heart melt.

This girl is an amazing and gentle soul and is looking for a comfortable home to live her life. If you are looking for a new best friend, apply for this angel today.
