Dez is looking for his furever home! He has been enjoying wrestling with his foster brother and taking naps on soft dog beds. He loves the snow and doesn’t hesitate to go outside even in the cold weather! Dez is treat motivated and has learned our household routine quickly, and would do well with some basic obedience training. He is crate trained and does well for shorter periods of time in the crate with a frozen Kong to keep him distracted.
Dez loves the company of his foster dog siblings and pays no attention to the cats. He bonds to his people quickly and is most comfortable when they are around, so would do best with someone who is home or works part time so he is not alone or crated for a full day. Dez sleeps well through the night and only whines when he needs to go out in the morning.
His back leg is improving daily since surgery and is nearly 100% now! He climbs stairs like a pro and runs into the backyard to chase birds at full speed. He would benefit from daily walks on leash to burn off energy and continue to build muscle strength in his leg.
If you think Dez would be a great addition to your family, he would love to meet you!Amazing Dez! World’s Best Dog Ever! Loves people of all ages, cats, and dogs.
Dez was hit by a car and left for dead. When he was rescued he had a punctured lung and his chest was filled with blood, along with a shattered femoral head and dislocated hip. He was rushed to AARCS where his chest was drained and then he had to wait for his lungs to heal until he could have his FHO. He is healing well and putting weight into the leg. Dez remains a happy sweet boy who is willing to do whatever you want. He is house trained and walks well on a leash.
Dez is amazing, says his foster mom. He is a love bug. He will do best with another dog for company. He loves to play and while he has to be monitored right now so he doesn’t over do, he enjoys the company of other doggy friends. He can usually be found sleeping in a heap with is foster sisters and brother. This is an amazing soul and family will be very lucky to have him become part of their circle.
