Let me introduce you to Sophia! Sophia is a sweet, medium energy girl who is a joy to have around. She is approx. 2 years old and weighs 45 lbs.

Sophia loves people! Although a little shy with new dogs at first, she becomes more confident and playful if given some space and time. Sophia is gentle and enjoys running in the yard and playing with toys (and hoarding them in her dog bed!). She is indifferent to cats.

Sophia sleeps well in her crate at night, but isn’t sure about staying it in when her people are away. She would likely do well for shorter periods of time, in one area of the house, with toys and frozen kongs to keep busy. Sophia would benefit from another dog in the home, to keep her company and teach her confidence.

Sophia is working on waiting patiently for her food, but dinner time is so exciting! She still thinks she has to eat her food as quickly as possible, so a slow-feeder bowl is working well for her. She does well with regular potty breaks, but is still learning how to ask to go outside when she needs to.

If you and your dog are looking for a great companion to add to your family, apply to adopt sweet Sophia today!

    Update: October 10, 2017

I’ve been doing so well in my foster home, I thought I would tell you about it!

In the last little while, my foster parents have let me sleep with the other dogs in the living room overnight, and I’ve done great! I don’t make a peep during the night. And when I’m ready to go out in the morning, I scratch at the back door and whine to let them know it’s time to get up! They’ve even left me home alone with my fur brothers & sisters for a few hours, and I didn’t get into any trouble.

I’ve learned that my dinner actually comes to me faster if I lay down and wait for it. Plus, we went for a walk with foster mom and she said I did really well on leash! I love to sniff and check things out, but when that rabbit ran by I just watched him go (there’s no way I was gonna catch him anyway).

I’ll just be here wrestling with my foster fur brother and taking naps, patiently waiting for you to apply and take me home with you!
