“Life can be scary at times!
I am a big girl, middle-aged, extremely shy Siamese cross who likes my own company and am learning to adapt to my changing environment. It takes me a long time to interact with people and other critters. I am quiet, gentle, and sleep most of the day, preferably behind some sort of a barrier. At night, I eat, do my business, explore and am curious about the resident dog who is less scary than the human that walks around like she owns the place. I run and hide or freeze when someone enters my room. I dig my claws in deep to the carpet or bedding and try not to let anyone pick me up although I will let them pet my luxurious fur. I use my warning growl but do not bite or scratch because I am a civilized cat.
Toys and treats do not interest me. Hide-and-seek is my game and I am very good at it. I have ventured out of my room a few times and use a different strategy each time. Last night, I came out of my room and surprised the dog and human. I must have magical powers because they did not move. Maybe they are more scared of me than I am of them. I have a marvelous voice that I use to get my human to open my door. Things are looking up!”
