Little Bubba is ready for his forever home!
Bubba came into AARCS care after a dog attack left him with puncture wounds to his hind leg that were left untreated and became badly infected. His physical wounds are healed, and he has worked very hard learning to trust people and other animals. He is still timid and prefers to approach people in his own time, but enjoys receiving affection and does come and ask for attention. He gets super-excited when his foster mom gets home from work, at meal times – of course, and for car rides and walks, but is a pretty reserved little fellow otherwise. He is fearful of sudden noises and movements, so will need a home without any of those fast-moving, noise-making little people.
He is house trained, although he won’t ask to be let out. His bed is his safe place, and he is crate trained but prefers to have the run of the house or a room to hang out in. He walks beautifully on leash, but is nervous of approaching strangers and prefers to stand and wait for them to pass.
Bubba is a bit of a party animal with other dogs! His body language is a bit off, so it often takes a bit for other dogs to figure him out, but once they do, he’s generally up for a wrestle! He loves toys – mostly plush squeakies – but he sometimes has trouble figuring out how to get them to work, the poor guy! He’s a bit of a hoarder and is pretty sure all the toys are his, so enjoys stealing toys from the other dogs to take back to his stash.
Bubba is a quiet fellow who needs a gentle and patient family to help him come out of his shell, and will reward them with kisses and grunts!
