Hi! My name is Hufton, but I don’t really know that name, I love being called Buddy and come every time you call me, especially if you have a nice treat to give me! I love going for walks with and without my foster mom’s other dogs, and I’m learning not to pull on the leash. Running beside a bicycle really gets me my workout for the day! On bad weather days, I think trotting on the treadmill is okay too. I like the companionship of other dogs in the house, but I can be a little pushy at times because I like to be first in line, so you may have to remind me to be polite at times.
Hands are very exciting to me and despite my foster mom’s best efforts I still like to marinate peoples hands with my drool, but I am learning restraint. I am good with little people that have been taught how to be good to me too, and I like cats that don’t run away, if they do, they are kind of fun to chase, but I’ll stop when you tell me to, although I know I would chase rabbits if I got the chance! I’m pretty indifferent to meeting new people, but I will bark and protect my front door, so best to give me instructions before you open it to someone new.
I love to get treats, and am very gentle when you give them to me, I’ll even give you my paw and sit nicely although if you make me wait too long I will drool all over your floor! I do prefer not to be bothered while I eat my meals.
When you are at work (but I really would love to have you home with me all day) if you have taken me for a run before you go, it makes sense for me to rest in my crate while I wait for you to come home again, but I hope you will give me something to chew on in there in case I wake up before you get back.

I’d love to be your Buddy forever!
