Hi my name is Cora, and after a really hard first years of life I am finally able to find a loving home of my own!!
I came into care with many ailments and during my 6 months in care I have battled and conquered Mange, 11 teeth needing to be extracted and many many rounds of antibiotics to fight off yeast infections. Through it all my Foster mom has managed to reassure me and try to help me gain confidence so I can become the playful, trusting pup that I deserve to be. My Forever Home will need to have a lot of patience with me at first as I am still pretty shy and unsure of humans. Give me a couple weeks though and if given the chance I will become my new humans shadow! My foster mom says I am a very loyal and gentle soul, I am just learning to play with toys like all the other dogs and have started to prance around when I am excited. This has made my mom super happy!! <3 I will need my new home to have a nice quiet safe place for me because sometimes I get overwhelmed and just want to lay in my crate. I have started trusting my humans enough now to take treats from their hands but am still working on things like sit, lay down and all those fun tricks. I get taken for walks on leashes and once I get enough courage to go through the doorway I am generally pretty slow moving and like to just walk at a fairly slow pace. I think though once I am more confident I would like to go for longer walks. I currently share my home with other dogs and I am trying to learn to play with them but I still prefer to be on my own with my people. If you have a current furry family member I am sure after proper introductions I will be just fine. I am one very special girl and my Foster Mom tells me how special I am and that I have brought a lot of joy to her life. If I sound like the perfect fit for your family maybe we can meet.
