Hi, my name is Charlie, I am over 8 years old and have heart disease. I spent most of my life in a puppy mill and didn’t know what it was like to be with kind, caring humans.
When I first came to my foster home, I wouldn’t come out of my kennel. I didn’t know what a home was or how to climb stairs. I would flinch or run and hide, if someone tried to pet me. I didn’t (and still don’t) know how to play with toys and what treats were. I learned lots from the dog that lives here – to do my business outside, that getting pats is a good thing, that treats are wonderful and that my humans are kind. I am still skittish but I have come a long way. I use to try to run away, from my foster home but don’t do that any more. I, also, use to “mark” lots, in my foster home but since I was neutered, I have stopped. I was sleeping in my kennel, for the first week, at my foster home but have slept on my foster parents’ bed ever since. Did I mention that I snore loud. Everyone who meets me says I am “super cute”. I love other dogs and going for walks. I have been around a kitten but am not interested. I really want to be a normal dog but am still really afraid of lots of things. I will keep trying though.
No need as we are adopting Charlie
