Did you say you love Beagles? Well maybe I’m the girl for you!

I spent my whole life as a breeding dog in a puppy mill, living in an indoor / outdoor enclosure. That experience has left me with some issues that I am working really hard to overcome!

I absolutely adore all other dogs and am not comfortable unless I have doggie friends around me – the more, the merrier! The other thing that I love almost as much as dogs is women. Boy oh boy am I sucker for them! Once I have time to get to know them, I turn into the biggest lovebug ever. All I want to do is follow them everywhere and flop over for belly rubs! I respect those of the feline persuasion and try to ignore them whenever possible. While I really do like kids and am very gentle with them, I am sometimes nervous about loud noises and unpredictable movements, so young, boisterous children might be too much for me to handle.

One thing that I’m really struggling with due to my past is learning to trust strangers – particularly men. To me, both are really scary so I just want to run away from them immediately! I will warm up to new women & older kids after a bit. But it takes me a LOT longer to warm up to a man. I am not mean to men, but I don’t like them near me. There might be some guy out there who can win my heart but I haven’t met him yet!

I have always shared my space with several other dogs so it makes me uneasy to be left alone. I do best if I’m left in a safe area together with other dogs while you’re out. I’m still working on my housetraining but am pretty good as long as I get a pee break mid-day. I am really smart & very athletic so I can figure out how to open some doors and I can also jump higher than you might think.

Other than that, well, I’m a Beagle, so I have energy! I love to play and explore but I love my people so much that I don’t ever stray far from them. I’m also told that I’m unbelievably smart so I need different toys, chews and things to keep my brain occupied. Hiding things from me so I can seek them out is a super fun game that I’m starting to discover too!

It may take a bit of work to get to know me – but trust me I’m SO worth the effort!
