Hello! Who is this handsome boy you ask? Why it’s me, Leo! No.. not Leonardo DiCaprio.. I am way cuter. What can I say, I’m a really sweet guy. I love everyone and welcome any sort of attention that I can get. For a dog who hasn’t had the best life, I have so much love to give and know how to make the best of any situation.
My number one passion is food and lucky for me, I get to have extra so that I can gain some weight and get back into shape! Right now, I am on a special Hill’s prescription diet for my early kidney disease, which is okay because the food tastes great! I also get a special medicated cookie every night to help fight a pesky bladder infection. For an older gentleman, I am certainly young at heart! I don’t let anything slow me down. In fact, I plan on living forever. I really enjoy going for walks, especially when my foster parents take me to exciting places like Fish Creek Park. I am well behaved on a leash but sometimes I pull if I see an animal or person that I want to meet. After about half an hour of walking, my legs tend to get pretty tired due to my arthritis, which is why I prefer a couple of shorter walks per day rather than one long walk. At my foster home, I love to snuggle up on the couch in front of the television. Sometimes if I’m feeling fancy, I’ll strip all the blankets off the couch and make a nest to curl up in. On warm days, I enjoying lying outside in the sun and rolling around in the grass. Over the past couple of weeks I’ve learned to do my business outside and haven’t had an accident in the house in three days! They say you can’t teach an old dog new tricks but I am living proof that that is not true. I live with my chihuahua foster sister and although I used to want to chase her, I know now that she is a friend and not food. My foster mom says that I would do best in a home with no cats. It’s not that I don’t like cats.. it’s that I like cats just a little too much. I have a perianal tumour and a tumour on my tail that I will be going to have removed soon. I will also be needing some dental work done as quite a few of my teeth are fractured. Afterwards though, I will be good as new and ready to retire with my future family!
If you are looking for a super laid-back, easygoing and lovable guy, then I might be the dog for you!
