Hi there, I’m Tasha!
I am afraid of people. When you are petting me you will feel bullet fragments under my skin that explain why. Before I moved to the city I lived in a small town where I played with my doggie friends and I spent the days enjoying the sunshine at a distance from people. It was safer that way.
Since coming into AARCS I have worked on a lot of things that were really hard for me at first. I learned how to: go for leash skills, take food from peoples hands, get brushed and make new doggie friends and come into and out of the house on command. It’s been a whirlwind for me. I’ve come a long way, and you know something… I LIKE meeting new people now. They are good to me, and always patient with me. I look forward to new faces because they tell me that I am in for a treat.
I’m ready now to find a forever family. I want someone to help me practice approaching when I feel safe, meeting new people, and going for walks once and a while. Most of all, I want a couch and a home to call my own. A place that I feel safe, where I can sleep the day away, is all I have ever really wanted.

Tasha likes the company of dogs and people who are not affectionate with her. She may play on her own, but never with other dogs or people. She is looking for a quiet spot on your couch, and hopes you will understand if she would like to nap in peace.
