    Story

Hi, I’m Banjo but most people I meet call me Adorable. I’m a happy go lucky, playful, cuddly and fun pooch and I can be amazingly calm in social situations. I feel a little uncertain when I meet anyone new but once I know they are kind I warm up quickly. I really enjoy playing with both dogs and humans so I’m looking for someone who can share fun activities with me.

Banjo came to Edmonton from a large rescue out of Saskatchewan. He was known to get along with other dogs so was placed in a foster home with two Portuguese Water Dogs. It didn’t take long for the 3 of them to become buddies and for Banjo to feed off of the other dogs energy. Although he was very shy the first day as long as he noticed the other dogs were okay he would follow suit. The first time we introduced a leash to him he was pretty hesitant but by day 3 he was excited when the leashes and boots came out.
Banjo loves human touch and comfort. He absolutely melts when he is pet and is cuddled up next to the person(s) he trusts. He also loves his toys and often gathers them together. He is needing to chew and therefore needs to be reminded what is a toy and what isn’t. He is easily redirected to a box of chew toys to choose from. He is busy learning rules but responds quickly when corrected. He likes to play outside and lets us know when he wants in. He has only had one accident in the house (we were not paying attention after he woke up from a nap) and does not indicate when he needs to go out yet but if taken out regularly seems to be consistent.
Banjo sleeps through the night in a crate and is comfortable if he knows if people are near by. If we are leaving and put him in his crate he does cry but there doesn’t seem to be any anxiety around the separation. His crate or under the table is his safe place. He has settled very well but was a bit overwhelmed on Christmas day with lots of people around – he simply lied under the table and rested until he was ready to hang out with everyone.
Banjo will greet you happily every time you walk through the door and offer you many smiles with his bouncy little happy dance. He is a beautiful dog!!

Patiently waiting and excited to start my life with you!
