Peaches is a gentle soul with an amazing temperament; she is perfectly happy to just sit with the humans and enjoy all the chin, bum, and belly rubs we can dish out. She loves her treats and her food and is a great chewer of bully sticks and antlers. She’s had no trouble figuring out how to get all the good stuff out of a Kong!
Peaches came in to foster care pregnant. After her puppies were born and weaned, she was spayed and sent to live with her current foster family, and we’ve been working with her on how to live politely with humans. But my guess is that, with some training and work with her human(s), she’d make an awesome volunteer therapy dog! That being said, she is still very young and energetic, so daily physical and mental exercise is a must. She’s learnt to play with our resident dogs and really enjoys a good crinkle toy. Peaches is good at sitting now, and is able to wait patiently for her treats and her meals. As for leash walking and coming when called, we’re working on this, but she will need *lots* more training in these areas. We’re also working on crate training. She vocalizes and scratches quite a lot when confined, but she does settle after awhile. She is accustomed to sleeping in her crate at night. This young lovely is an old soul, and lives completely up to her name!
A perfect peach of a dog!
