Hi I’m Freckles and I am a senior sweetie looking for my retirement home.

I am a very laid back girl who prefers to snuggle up to a human every chance I get. I would do well in a home with another laid back dog or as an only dog too. I have not been tested with cats, but with my attitude I probably would ignore them completely. I am fully house trained and don’t really mind spending time in a crate when you go out, which is good to keep me safe. I don’t bark much either.

I am estimated to be around 10-14 years old and I don’t ask for much – a comfy spot to curl up close by when you are busy, and a lap to rest my head on when you’re not. I often like to snuggle in for a cuddle at bedtime, but will happily sleep the night away in my bed on the floor beside you. I am looking for an awesome home to live out my remaining time, however long that may be.

I have some health challenges. I have an enlarged heart which is not uncommon for spaniels, but I also have one very big challenge. Due to previous eye damage I have significant cataracts and am going blind. Because of this I will need a home that is calm and not prone to moving things around. I also would not suit a family with young or active children. I would prefer a quiet home where I can feel relaxed in my environment and where I can settle into a routine that I can rely on as I lose my sight. Someone who has previous experience with blind dogs would be a big bonus as they will know what my challenges are.

I am working on confidence with leash walking, but I tend to alternate a little between pulling a bit when I think I know where we are going, and hugging your leg if I’m uncertain. You have to make sure I don’t walk into things as I don’t always notice.

Are you my awesome retirement family?
