Autumn was lovingly named after the most beautiful season of the year by our shelter volunteers. Autumn is a sweet and very loving girl with some confidence issues, which are improving tremendously.
When Autumn first came into our home she was extremely nervous, it took three days for Autumn to allow me to put a collar around her neck and another week to go for a walk. Now, Autumn absolutely loves going on walks and, at times, will even approach strangers. She is becoming much more comfortable approaching other dogs but she doesn’t tolerate puppies or excitable dogs well. She has become very comfortable in our home and with guests visiting, although it takes a little bit longer for her to warm up to men. Autumn is a cuddle bug, LOVES to get really close, and does get a little jealous if she is not the center of attention by her favorite people. She doesn’t like to be left alone outside for more than a few minutes, Autumn is definitely enjoying indoor comforts! She is wonderful with cats and dogs but tends to trample smaller breeds, for that reason she may not be a good choice with small children. Autumn gets excited in the car and becomes quite vocal, so some training would be beneficial. When anxious, Autumn tends to lose control of her bladder, so some patience with gaining her trust is a necessity, especially at the beginning. Autumn is an absolutely wonderful girl with a few minor quirks. As you get to know her she will steal your heart with her loving eyes, like she has mine.
