Rio is a big, friendly and clumsy boy, who is ready to find his forever home.
When Rio came to AARCS he had not had much positive human interaction and did struggle to trust people…oh how things have changed! He has come on leaps and bounds and absolutely loves dogs, people, animals (everything!) and is quite the social butterfly! He does take time to build his trust of people when faced with a new situation, but once that relationship is built, he is astonishingly loyal, committed and has so so so much love to give. Rio approaches every situation in a calm, quiet and slow fashion and does need a family who can help him build his confidence and patiently help work through any ‘scary’ situations – he is a soft and sensitive boy. Since being in a foster family Rio has discovered all the great things in life; balls, playing with his foster sister, walks, meal times, and lazy evenings snuggling with his foster family. He likes his routine; bedtime, walks and meal times are a happy time for Rio. Rio is a very well mannered boy and very eager to please those around him. He is likely better in a quiet home, with a family who have lots of time to give him all the love and attention he deserves. He does not necessarily need another dog at home, but does like the company and loves going to day care. Most importantly, he does need a forever family that can commit time to training and confidence building.
