Dog Walk to Benefit AARCS

Poplar Grove Vet Services from Innisfail is hosting a Dog Walk and BBQ to benefit AARCS on September 18, 2011.

Mark your calendar and get ready to come for a drive in the country and stroll around the lake.

Bring your dog/s and join the staff of Poplar Grove Veterinary Services for a charity dog walk and $2 BBQ in honor of Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society.

Beach Pawrty Meet n' Greet

AARCS Town Hall

The Board of Directors has been working tirelessly on a strategic plan for AARCS and we are excited to announce our plans and gather your feedback and recommendations. We are hosting a town hall meeting for all volunteers, foster homes, members and supporters. Everyone is welcome. We highly value your input and hope you will make time to attend this event on April 10th. We will have some fun give-aways for everyone who attends. The event is free and we will be providing some munchies and time for you to mingle and meet your fellow volunteers. I?d also like to mention that our membership numbers are important to fundraising and hope that if you are not already a member of AARCS that you will sign up. If you wish to sign up as a member the yearly cost is $25/family or $15 individuals (no obligation) and a tax receipt is provided.

BIG THANKS TO POOOH BUSTERS, they have donated 2, 12 weeks of free services (pet waste removal) that we will draw for at the event.

Get into the race! Begin your session with an instructional walk of the track to orient yourself to the basics of NASCAR racing. Then, get suited up, strapped into the car and follow your instructor in the pace car for 5 warm-up laps. Then, the track is yours as your instructor speeds up for you to follow for 10 memorable laps of exhilaration and fun. Your instructor will go as fast as he feels you can safely handle the car. Your package also includes a photo of yourself in front of the NASCAR Winner's Circle Sign and 4 Event Tickets to the Edmonton International Raceway that you can redeem anytime during the race season.

Mental and Physical stimulation ideas that will lower arousal and reduce unwanted doggy behaviours that usually arise when dogs are bored.

But there?s more! We didn?t forget about the people part of the relationship. While rewarding, rescue can be stressful, heartbreaking, frustrating and tiring. So we have included tips to keep the humans in the equation healthy and happy.
