RECENT CASES OF DISTEMPER

Recent cases of distemper in Alberta remind us how important it is to consult with your veterinary professional to ensure your animal’s vaccinations are up-to-date.

Distemper is a highly contagious and deadly airborne virus. It can be transmitted by dogs exposed to the virus, even if they are not showing symptoms. Here is a link with more information on distemper or talk to your veterinarian if you have concerns.

AARCS Edmonton Is Officially Up and Running

AARCS is excited to announce that we now have a formal operations team in the Edmonton area. Our expansion to Edmonton includes having donation drop off points available, volunteer positions available and foster homes in the area. Although we have had foster homes and volunteers around the province for several years now, expanding our operation formally is a great opportunity for AARCS to have more adoptable animals available province-wide for people looking to adopt, to be able to use our resources to assist the rural areas and surrounding First Nations communities, and to have opportunities available for anyone interested in volunteering in and around the Edmonton area. For more information please visit our website or email chris@aarcs.ca.
